The congregation is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association. Our members hold differing religious beliefs, but our shared principles affirm the worth and dignity of all person, the need for justice and compassion, a free and responsible search for truth and meaning, and a repect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part. We choose to be in a community for the development and values education of our children. As UU's, we believe that personal experience, conscience and reason should be the final authorities in religion.

WIDE-LP appreciates the support of these local progressive organizations.
They share our goal of a more just society with citizen engagement in a functioning democracy.

East Side Progressives. We, the East Side Progressives, believe in a racially, ethnically, and economically diverse community of women and men committed to social justice. Our focus: candidate forums and speakers on relevant topics, as well as GOTV on Madison's east side.

Prairie UU Society Meeting House Humanist Union of Madison. We usually meet the first Sunday of each month for a potluck lunch 11:45 to 12:30 and program 12:30 to 1:30. The program, with a presentation on a topic of interest to humanists followed by discussion, is recorded for broadcast as part of the Monday Humanism Today show on WIDE-LP. Check our Coming Events Page for upcoming programs.
Farley CenterLinda and Gene Farley Center for Peace, Justice and Sustainability. The Farley Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting ecological sustainability, social justice and peace. It is located outside of Verona Wisconsin in the Town of Springdale on 43 acres of beautiful farm and wooded land.

Natural Path Sanctuary. Natural Path Sanctuary is a nature preserve burial ground also known as a green cemetery. Located near Madison, it is the first cemetery in Dane County, Wisconsin that exclusively follows natural/green burial practices - no embalming, no vaults and only biodegradable containers and shrouds are allowed. It offers a natural and traditional alternative to modern-day burials. Family/friends of the deceased, and others in search of meditative quiet, are welcome to enjoy the peace, tranquility and beauty of the Natural Path Sanctuary burial grounds during daytime hours.

Our Wisconsin Revolution. We are an independent social justice organization working to make both our economy and our government a true democracy—of, by and for the people.
(Hear weekly commentaries by Executive Director Mike McCabe at Silver Lining.)

The Progressive. A voice for peace, social justice, and the common good. Championing grassroots progressive politics, civil liberties, human rights, economic justice, a healthy environment, and a reinvigorated democracy. The Progressive magazine provides the audio recordings of Fighting Bob Fest speakers broadcast on WIDE-LP.

Raging Grannies of Madison. Our membership is open to all older women who know that "war is stupid" and that for the sake of our children and grandchildren we must sing out for peace, economic & social justice and the environment. We sing primarily in the Madison area, but the Grannies "have songs, will travel" anywhere in the state. We sing wherever we are invited -- and sometimes where we're not!

Safe Skies Clean Water Wisconsin. Our mission is to stop the harm that the basing of F-35 fighter jets at Truax Field, Madison will inflict. In addition, we work to stop the negligent pollution of our waters and force the clean-up of existing contamination of the water supply emanating from the base.

South Central Wisconsin United To Amend. Wisconsin United To Amend is a grass-roots citizens' political-action movement dedicated to amending the US Constitution to provide that:
(A) only actual living, breathing human beings (not corporations, unions, churches, or similar artificial entities) are entitled to human rights;
(B) free spending doesn't deserve to be treated as free speech; and
(C) true democracy depends on governments being able to impose reasonable regulations on campaign financing, so the wealthy can't pay for giant megaphones to drown out the voices of the common people.
If you're in agreement, this group is where YOU can make a difference.

Wisconsin Democracy Campaign. The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign is now in its third decade as a fierce watchdog for clean and open government, where people count more than money. We run an invaluable public database of donors to statewide political campaigns, and we shine a light on dark money. We also publish news stories and commentaries on money in politics in Wisconsin at our website, www.wisdc.org. Matt Rothschild's Democracy Minute commentaries air every weekend on WIDE-LP.

We'd like to see every progressive group in the Madison area listed here, including yours. We will post your group's logo or a photo at left and a brief description, with links to your website, Facebook page, Meetup site, etc. as you wish. We can also include a link to an audio or video clip in which a member of your group describes what you do. (All it takes to be listed here is a donation of $10 or more OR contribution for broadcast of a recent recording of local progressive voices that deserve to be heard.)
